چکیده

The tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission TRMM 3B42 V7 product and its successor, the Global Precipitation Measurement Integrated Multi-satellitE Retrievals for GPM IMERG high-resolution V5, have been validated against rain gauges precipitation in an arid mountainous basin where ground-based observations of are sparse, or spatially undistributed. This paper aims to evaluate hydro-statically performances V05 satellite precipitations products SPPs, at multiple temporal scales, from 2014 2017. SPPs compared with gauge station show good results both statistical contingency metrics notable values R > 0.94. Moreover, rainfall-runoff events implemented on hydrological model were performed 3-hourly time steps showed satisfactory based obtained Nash–Sutcliffe criteria ranging 94.50% 57.50%, 89.3% 51.2%, respectively. tends underestimate not capture extreme events. In contrast, can identify variability small steps, although a slight underestimation detection be corrected during validation steps. proposed method is interesting approach solving problem insufficient observed data Mediterranean regions.

Assessment of GPM and TRMM Multi-Satellite Precipitation Products in Streamflow Simulations in a Data-Sparse Mountainous Watershed in Myanmar

Satellite precipitation products from the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) mission and its predecessor the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) are a critical data source for hydrological applications in ungauged basins. This study conducted an initial and early evaluation of the performance of the Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG) final run and the TRMM Multi-sa...

Fine-Resolution Precipitation Mapping in a Mountainous Watershed: Geostatistical Downscaling of TRMM Products Based on Environmental Variables

Accurate precipitation data at a high spatial resolution are essential for hydrological, meteorological, and ecological research at regional scales. This study presented a geostatistical downscaling-calibration procedure to derive the high spatial resolution maps of precipitation over a mountainous watershed affected by a monsoon climate. Based on the relationships between precipitation and oth...

Evaluation of Precipitation Products of TRMM Satellite in Precipitation and Erosion Rate Monitoring across Iran

Extended abstract 1- Introduction     In order to calculate the erosive power of rainfall, high-resolution precipitation data are necessary for rainfall erosion evaluation. However, collecting the required data on kinetic energy of the rainfall particles and precipitation rates with short-term temporal resolution is a time-intensive task, particularly in developing countries, and the collecte...

Hydrological Assessment of Daily Satellite Precipitation Products over a Basin in Iran

In order to measure precipitation as the main variable for estimating the runoff and designing hydraulic structures, the satellite algorithm products that have the proper spatial and temporal coverage, can be used. In this study, at first, the daily streamflow simulation of Sarough-Cahy River from the Zarinehroud basin was conducted through the artificial neural network (ANN) and ground data of...
